I'm pretty sure I compiled the kernel with reiser. The rootfs is on /dev/sdb2 and I did compile to kernel with aic7xx as a module |

you should NOT have compiled your scsi driver as module, but instead have compiled it in the kernel. If you compile your scsi driver into the kernel as module - the driver is NOT loaded at boot (unless you dick around with initrd stuff - a nightmare for most people) - and thus you cannot boot from any device which is supported by this driver.
in your case: your kernel fails to initialize the scsi driver since the module is not available at boot time - it sits on the disc that needs that driver! |

You can use whatever you want..Just keep in mind that if you want to switch....Consider XFS. ^_^ _________________ In Soviet Russia, ISOs install you. |

I thought XFS was only good if you had a UPS nearby , in case of a dreaded powerfailure! _________________ I R Human ...... |
