From what little I can see, Lunar Linux is totally screwed up right now about XOrg/XOrg7. Some scripts give you the option, some expect one, some expect the other. It's Catch-22 if you dont give a d--m about which X you have but just want to build your system. |

Martial, this is has *nothing* to do with the subject... XOrg7 has nothing to do with Xorg... So you stay on topic plz.
And SeveK... the forum is not for bugs... if you have a problem installing XOrg create a bug report on our bugtracker |

OK, so you say it is unrelated.
I'll buy that, but in any case, I can't get XOrg7 to install on a fresh and ("lunar updated") installation of Lunar from the ISO with i386 and Linux 2.4. Old Pentium 2 laptop. There is NOTHING on the system but updated material from the ISO. "lin XOrg7" results in "Warning: BUILD does not call prepare_install or installs zero files!"
I would appreciate some help with that, isn't this the place to ask for it?
By the way and somewhat unrelatedly, I don't think "vim" should be on the ISO since it depends on X and someone should be able to "lunar update" from a fresh install without having to install X first or to worry whether packages on the ISO depend on uninstalled software. Vi should be enough for the ISO, it seems to me. |

Martial... The error you are giving me is one i expected. Lunar is reporting you an error because XOrg7 does not install files. Which is true. XOrg7 is just a profile which will pull a bunch of dependencies (lvu DEPENDS XOrg7) . So all XOrg7 is doing is making sure you install all dependencies needed to run the new XOrg7.
To conclude, afaik, xorg7 has installed nicely and should just work.
Though i have now added a message to the profile BUILD file (lin moonbase, lvu BUILD XOrg7) to make sure ppl know what the error means... |

Ah, that's very helpful! Thanks for that information. Now that I think of it, it seems that xfce4-profile gives a similar message. |

exaclty, all profiles have that problem...
I have just supposed a patch on the dev-lunar mailinglist to fix this "issue" so it could soon be a thing of the past
