|
|
G'Day again, Got lunar installed but only have a command line login, I have given login name & passwd,., But when I type startx it says "command not Found"
Just wondering not that it matters ,but is it normally a graphical or command type login, as I am now thinking if I have messed up somewhere during Configuration?
AnyWay could anyone help me out on how I login as I have searched Docs & Faqs etc & cant find any tips. Thanks |

Lunar doesn't come with X installed after installation, so you need to `lin XOrg` after first booting your system. Remember: lunar only comes with a very basic set of packages! |

Thanks sofar , I didnt research hard enough I guess before posting. I found the other Lunar web site & found some info on XOrg etc & have started compiling. Waiting for results ,
I might install XFCE4 as my first desktop , I did get one error though when I tried "lin theedge"
"/dev seems to be defs ,do not install this module"" not sure why or what it means? |

makedev is required for some machines but not yours. You can safely ignore this message. |

it's usually a good idea to update first before installing - especially when the last iso is gettin a bit older already - for instance right now both gcc and glibc already are major versions behind. |
