Hi, I'm looking for a distro and want to know if lunar meets my needs.
- I want something with a package system wich covers most free software programs, and with dependency checking.
- Something that doesn't belong to an enterprise.
- Something that doesn't force me to have an internet connection at home.
- Something stable. I don't care about have the latest software but have something working good.
I don't mind on compiling packages or have precompiled binaries.
I need a "frozen" repository so if I want to install something, I don't have to update my system.
apart from debian, Is there sth else in the planet that satisfy this requirements? |

your question is really not appropriate on this forum - you are looking for a general-purpose non-connected distro. Lunar relies heavily on having a network and (allthough it can work without) often is a pain to maintain
lunar's focus is to stay up-to-date as much as possible.
Go look in distrowatch.org for general purpose distro's that suit your needs. There are plenty. If you however decide to use lunar, then feel free to come back and browse the FAQ to se how to run lunar without a network connection. |
