This week-end I finally realized the installation of lunar. I am quite happy with the result but still have problems installing DE. I tried xfce4 and kde3 but they both were stop during the installation of glitz ("building error" is mentionned). So I installed fluxbox and enlightenment and after this tried to install firefox (to have something to browse with). But firefox has also been cancelled because of "building errors" with glitz (again).
Any idea about this?
I saw glitz was updated on June the 1st. Or could it be a problem with the compiler (I set gcc 4.1.2 as default compiler) |

I don't have the printscreen but it stopped when treating glx variables. I suppose I should install fglrx but I do not feel so sure with it: fglrx wants to compile against gcc 3.x and I set my default compiler to gcc 4.1.2 |

Did you install (1)XOrg or (2)XOrg7 ?
if (1) you are doing something terribly wrong then :p
if (2) you shouldn't have answered that you wanted to install the nvidia binary blob...
if you need fglrx you can do so... it should just work.

I installed XOrg7 and, indeed, I answered I wanted to install the nvidia binary.
So, I suppose I could start again and then answer no to the nvidia question. By the way, why should I say no (except for the problems I already encountered)? |

if you choose yes to the nvidia installer xorg-server will be installed without openGL support. This is because nvidia installs its own version of openGL... If i don't do it like this you will get nvidia and the xorg-server module fighting with each other to install an opengl library...
so all you need to do is Code: | lin -cr xorg-server | It will ask that question again and plz if you don't install the NVIDIA driver answer NO...
cheers
