lunar nofix: graphviz is broken => libperl.so not found

I'm cleaning up possible problems on my box and I've discovered the following:
root@linux # lunar nofix
/usr/lib/graphviz/libgv_perl.so.0.0.0 of graphviz is broken.
libperl.so => not found

lin -r --deps graphviz doesn't show any dependency on perl (or any dependencies at all), but
lvu tree grapviz does show an indirect dependency via autoconf and XOrg

I've reinstalled graphviz, but I still get the same message. If I look for libperl.so:
root@linux# lvu from libperl.so
perl:/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i686-linux-thread-multi/CORE/libperl.so
weechat:/usr/lib/weechat/plugins/libperl.so
weechat:/usr/lib/weechat/plugins/libperl.so.0
weechat:/usr/lib/weechat/plugins/libperl.so.0.0.0

locate libperl.so shows the same list, btw.

I've now also reinstalled perl, and weechat, but lunar nofix still returns the same warning.

I could do a full lunar update but that might take rather a long time, and still not 'solve' the problem. Is there some way of telling the system not to report this warning again? Should I run lunar fixdepends? What is my best course of action now?

Well....Ain't that a bitch? Edit the module yourself. I've found that works well. Especially when the developers run away.

I do not think your problem is with perl or weechat. This sounds eerily like a problem that existed with koffice and graphviz. Several versions back of graphviz that is. I don't run weechat so haven't noticed the problem.

If you start here https://mailman.research.att.com/pipermail/graphviz-interest/2005q3/002588.html this might provide some understanding. Be sure to look at the kde bug report link.

The issue got resolved when graphviz bumped their version, so that accounts for the apparent end of the thread. Also there were some PM's I had with a fella there as well.

The gist IIRC had/has to do with how graphivz was handling some rpath issues with ImageMagick (iirc).

I know this is kinda foggy explanation but my memory is like that sometimes. You might want to bring this to the attention of the graphviz folks.

Thanks for the info. I do have ImageMagick and weechat installed, but I don't have koffice or kde installed. Or rather, I haven't installed kde explicitly but [parts of] it could have been installed as a dependency of something else. I will check when I get home tonight.

Unfortunately spare time is becoming harder to find as Christmas draws nearer, and I have other more pressing things to sort out on the box. I had installed graphviz as a dependency of doxygen, but I'm not actually using either yet, so I've lrm'd them for the time being. Once I start my fltk programming project in the New Year I will be re-installing them and I hope to have time to investigate further.

I notice that RedKennedy complained of the same problem on #lunar over the weekend, so maybe there's already another pair of eyes looking at this.

I am confident this is an upstream issue and not a Lunar bug. In fact that is the purpose of the integrity checks, to spot these type things.
