Hello
Sorry for my bad english.
I am trying to install Lunar into old PC with cpu pentium 90.
I am downloading lunar-1.5.1-i386.iso and installing Lunar into vmware for experiments.
After set flag to optimization in i586 I have rebuild the system, installed mc and Xorg.
But when I install icewm, I have noticed that build with flag i686.
And many other programs in /var/cache/lunar build with flag i686 too.
As I have understood, this programs which is written on C++ and optimization for C does not work.
What image to me to include the optimization i586 and for these programs?
Excuse me for possible foolish questions, I beginner in Linux
ps I here asked, but answer has not got http://forums.lunar-linux.org/viewtopic.php?t=472 |

As I said in the private message to you, I'm no expert...
It isn't clear exactly what it is that you have done to set the optimisations. Are you setting the optimizations from wiithin the lunar command? Have you checked the FAQ#Optimisations?
Lunar offers a lot of flexibility for experienced users to set up their machines exactly how they want, whether that is a dedicated server or a desktop, but it does not hide any of these details from beginners. So be prepared to do a lot of reading on the web. But if you wanted to be protected from the low-level details you would be running on Macintosh, no?
Hope this helps. If not, can you please give more information? |

if you run the `arch` program on your system, you will see that it says `i686`. that does not necessarily mean that your system is OPTIMIZED for i686, just that your system falls in the basic category.
if your lunar optimizations are set to i586, you should be OK and can ignore the fact that the cache files have i686 in their names.
