I've been trying unsuccessfully to get the modules i need installed in order to get a WM up and running on my lunar box. I have an ATI graphics card, which definitely doesn't help things. I've installed XOrg, fglrx (assuming i need it to use my ATI card), and xfce, but when i attempt to run xfce i get a GTK error saying it couldnt initialize the video. Am i missing something important? I am using the latest stable version right now because i couldn't get my Broadcom lan card working with the newer kernal. |

try testing your video config by using 'startx' before you try and run xfce4 with startxfce4. X will dump errors in the console and in /var/log/ - check the output of those for pointers to what your problem is.
There are MILIONS of websites out there that can help you with this problem - google for the error message and you will most likely find the problem and solution in less than 5 minutes. |
