Hi, i downloaded the lunar-1.5.1-i686.iso.bz2 file.
i bunzip2 the file into a .iso and burned the .iso file on a cd.
but when i trying to boot the cd i have a lot of errors like "permission denied", for example, when the hardware modules are loading.
then i login like root, but i can't use lnet or lmodules only lunar, but i don't know what can i do there.

i'm using a toshiba a75-s229. (p4 3.2 HT, 512 ddr ram, 80gb hard disk, more details on the toshiba page)

i'm going to take some pictures of the display, maybe this will help better to explain my problems.
the pictures are here: www.darkplace.ath.cx/lunar

Sorry for the bad english. Wink

It looks to me that you installed the ISO but never rebooted: Either you still boot from the ISO every time or you never even rebooted. If this isn't the case, then perhaps your fstab entries are wrong. Can you make absolutely sure you're not booting from the ISO?!

If you can't use lnet or lmodules then *again* you are still in the ISO. There is no lmodules on the ISO system, and neither is 'lnet'. Lnet and lmodules are only available on the installed system. To use those, you need to finish the installation and boot the newly installed system.

I don't know how you managed it but you seem to have missed the installer. What did you do at the boot screen? did you just press 'enter' or did you type something?

Also, the pictures only show half the screen, and if you can try to record a movie of the boot process, so I can see which screens flip by. That would help if you can upload that.

In any case, why don't you try to run '/sbin/lunar-install' once you're logged in? that should start the installer. Again, this works perfectly fine for me and everyone else... there must be something really weird you are doing. Are you booting from some special hardware? I'm really puzzled.

On the first screen i just press [enter]
and when the system ask about the screen resolution (80x25...) i press [space], is something wrong with that? i need to specify something at boot time?

and... i'm not using nothing special, just my notebook. i'm burning the cds again and installing a virtual pc for testing..

its really strage right?

sorry for the pictures i taked with my cel phone and tryed to cover the most important part of the screen. i'cant record video until i flash the phone.

indeed this should not happen but I have no idea why it doesn't work for you only. Try the 'lunar-install' command I gave you to manually start the installer.
