What I need to install?

What packages do I have to install after a clean installation??
ie. do I have udev and hal installed by default?
What packages do I need to got a working desktop?

1. you should read man lfirsttime

which will point you to
man lvu , man lunar , man lin

2. for a desktop you first need to decide which one you want
a. Xfce --> lin xfce4-profile
b. KDE --> lin kde3
c. GNOME --> lin gnome2
d. other stuff...

3. as a desktop wants X you should install XOrg (lin XOrg)

4. to know if you have udev / hal / whatever installed...

lvu installed $MODULE

default you should have udev installed (if you installed the latest iso)
hal would not be installed
