hi

I had Ubuntu installed on this box & it set the right screen resolution to 1280x1024

Now with Lunar on the same box the screen resolution is 1024x1024.

Is there a way I can get the screen resolution back to 1280x1024 ?

Also I'm very happy that I got Lunar up & running. I have a lot to learn. Thats why I'm forcing myself to do this distro by source thing. I need to learn to get under the hood & understand what's going on with my box.

I've tried Gentoo overwhelmed, LFS too much work for me, T2 just don't get it.

I hope I've found a home here Cool

I'm no expert, by any means, but last week's DistroWatchWeekly happened to have an
Correcting Screen Resolutions article (and associated comments) that might help you.

Or maybe one of the Lunar devs can provide more definite help.

Good luck

Hi all thought I would pick up where I left off Smile

I installed lunar 1.61, installed xfce4. After running "startxfce4" the desk started with a screen res of about 600x480 (Ubuntu live CD sets it to 1280x1024 24 depth). I went to edit /etc/X11/xorg.confg but there was no file.

So I ran xorgconfig to creat one. For some reason the GUI diden't run( I'll figure that out at some point), so I deleted the file xorg.confg I just made.

Started the GUI with "startxfce4" & the desktop started (with the default low res).

Besides /etc/X11 where dose xfce4 look to be configured? And what the name of the file? When I delete the "/etc/X11/xorg.confg" file where dose the GUI look?

Thanks
Clark
