Hallo

I have installed Lunar-1.6.2alpha, but there a a few problems.

1. gdm does not start at bootup. I must login at pormpt as root and start gdm nanually.

2. If I start gdm as root, I can login with gdm, but I can only choose in the session-menu of gdm xfce, Afterstep and enlightement, but I have installed fluxbox and blackbox too, but the 2 wm don't appear in the session menu, why.

Thanks for helping.

As you should be aware, this is not a plug and play distro... so adding blackbox to gdm should be something you should do manually.

Letting gdm start automatically when you start up is as simple as changing the default init level in /etc/inittab to 5 instead of 3 and adding gdm to the startup sequence with the tool lservices.

cheers

Hallo

So, gdm problem solved, but with fluxbox I have probs.

Thee is no entry in the session-menu from gdm, nor by using a /.xinitrc in /home/user , nor by using a /.Xsession in /home with
exec /usr/bin/fluxbox.

How can I get an entry for fluxbox in gdm, or otherwise, how can I start fluxbox, without using a graphical-login-manager ?

Thanks
