If you are a Lunar newbie, like me, you might find it a bit daunting trawling through all of the HOWTOs on the The Linux Documentation Project or returned by one of the search engines. Even if you have found something that looks promising, if the last time it was changed was 5 years ago, how do you know whether it is still applicable?
Well I've just discovered the Linux from Scratch online guide to building your own Linux system from the ground up. While it doesn't describe the exact same configuration that Lunar uses, it does give explanations of how and why certain subsystems are used, and also provides pointers and links to up-to-date and relevant information. And it's all in one convenient place.
If you like LFS you should also take a look at BLFS, ALFS, CLFS and HLFS on the Linux from Scratch main site

A lot of lunar developers regularly check on LFS's documentation and progress - they have some really good docs on how to do stuff. |
