How do I install KDE, with 'lin KDE'? Is it that simple? Does it install the x server and everything so that next time I boot it will work? Or is there some configuration I have to do?
Thanks.

Don't `lin kde3` right away, first start with `lin XOrg` and get your x working. After that you might want to `lin qt3` first to be sure qt is installed properly (logout and login once too).

During the `lin kde3` you will be asked if you want 'kdm' to be started at boot. If you say yes, kdm will automatically be started next time you reboot.

Good luck!

Ok, I installed XOrg and QT successfully, but KDE3 didn't compile. It gives me the error:
! sha1sum check failed for sgml-common-0.6.3-manpage-1.patch
while it is building sgml-common, the first that pops up. I logged off and even rebooted after installing QT, but it didn't work.
Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Why does the #lunar irc say I am banned?!

most networks block users that run the IRC client as user 'root'. You should only use IRC as a non-root user to prevent being hacked the easy way.

I just fixed this: the problem: linuxfromscratch people edited a file the wrong way. Get a new moonbase and try again.

Run "lin -rc w3c-libwww" and say no to any mysql questions.I've had that problem as well and dunno why w3c has that problem.
