1.6.2 beta installer sees only my primary windows hard drive /dev/sda I have 3 hard drives on this box. The target drive for my lunar install is an empty 30gig drive that has not been partitioned. Any ideas?

Thanks
Scorp

Edit:
I tried 1.6.1 i686 annd it saw all my drives: /dev/hda /dev/hdg and /dev/hde witch is the drive i want to install Lunar on.

But Id really like to use 1.6.2 as it has xorg and desktop already installed....

Thanks again

If I remember correctly, between the 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 ISO releases there was a kernel change which meant that the sda partition names were replaced by hda names and this gave problems on first reboot. I don't remember the details now.

Rather than working with the outdated 1.6.1 or 1.6.2 Lunar Linux ISO images, why not try the 1.6.4-alpha3 (i686 & x86-64) ISO instead?

Unfortunately for you this ISO does not have XOrg or Xfce installed, so you will need to install those (and any video drivers) once you have completed the man lfirsttime instructions.

If you do want to continue with the 1.6.2 installation, bear in mind that you will need to follow the additional 1.6.2 ISO install guide if you want to avoid major problems.

Good luck Very Happy
PS. For quicker response, you might want to try the #lunar irc channel.

it's totally useless to use the beta or whatever release...
all packages on it are from the stone age and it will take you way more time to update those and fix all the issues you will encounter than compiling XOrg7 on the alpha iso...
plz try if the alpha3 iso works for you... and give use some info on your hardware if the alpha3 doesn't work
